Is paraffin wax a safe product?

Yes, there has been a lot of misinformation regarding paraffin wax, it is as safe, clean burning and non-toxic as all other waxes.

Should I trim the candle wick?

Yes, our candles burn best when the wick is kept trimmed to around 8-10mm long being careful to remove the trimming.

How do stop my candles from fading?

Where possible keep candles away from direct sunlight.

How do I reduce smoke when extinguishing the candle?

Using a candle snuffer rather than blowing out the candle, also using a toothpick or similar to push the wick down temporarily into the molten wax, being careful to stand back up again immediately for relighting later.

Can I move a candle whilst burning?

No, we do not advise moving a burning candle. Simply extinguish and then leave to stand till cooled.

General burning tips for Cotton wick candles:

Never leave burning candles unattended
Always burn candles on a level, heatproof surface
Keep candles away from all flammable items
Never carry or handle a candle whilst burning
Avoid draughts and breeze when burning, all candles burn better in still conditions
Keep wick trimmed to no longer than 8-10mm, be sure to remove all trimmings.

Do we use lead core wicks?

No, all our wicks used are pure cotton.

How do I stop candles from dripping?

Keep away from all draughts created by air conditioning or open windows, doors etc. Candles burn best in still conditions.

Can a candle be burnt on any surface?

No, candles should always be burnt on a heatproof surface or at least a plate etc to avoid marking the surface.

How do I reduce the smoke when burning?

Keep the wick small and trimmed to around 8-10mm (remove all trimmings)

Should I remove the label before burning?

Yes, all labels should be removed before lighting a candle.

General burning tips for Crackle Wick candles:

Trim excess wick from the candle and remove before lighting, this is simply done by breaking off the burnt wood from the top of the wick.
Burn your Cracklewick candle for at least 4 hours at a time to ensure a
large wax pool, this way you will get the most out of your candle.
Always burn on a heatproof and flat surface and do not leave your
burning candle unattended.
To extinguish, simply place the lid back on the candle.
